Thanks for the support

Our daughter and three of her friends were stranded in Rome on their way to Sydney on the evening of February 14 because she lost her passport in Rome centre that afternoon.

We, her parents, were obviously as distraught as they were and trying from here and there to rectify a situation which appeared desperate.

Of course, they stuck together and missed their flight – that’s what true friends are for!

I write this letter to show their (and our) immense appreciation to the staff at the Maltese Embassy in Rome, the Malta Passport Office and the security and cabin crew of Air Malta, the Australian High Commission in Rome and the Italian Embassy here in Malta for their support, efficiency and kindness in managing to provide our daughter with a new passport and visa within 24 hours to enable her (and them) to proceed to Australia.

Thank you from them in Sydney and from us.
