The year 2012 is the European Year of Active Ageing.

Though official statistics provide the actual number of people reaching the age of 90 plus, there is no information of those reaching 100 years or over.

For this reason I am gathering statistical data about Maltese nationals, whether living in Malta or in a foreign country, who in the last 100 years or so have reached 100 years of age or more.

I appreciate any information from their relatives who may send in a message on 9942 4176 or at the following address: 96, Mdina Road, Żebbuġ, with the name and surname of the centenarian, date when reaching 100 years and if possible the town or village he or she came from.
