The two Libyan mirages which defected to Malta last year successfully completed engine runs and fast taxi tests this morning, in preparation for their departure to Libya, possibly tomorrow.

The mirages arrived in Malta last February piloted by Colonels Ali al-Rabti and Abdullah al-Salheen who refused to bomb civilians.

The two pilots, who spent seven months here, returned to Malta on Saturday after flight training in France.

They came to take the mirages back to their home country.
