• A jumble sale in aid of the Dominican Mission in Albania is being held at the Dominican parish centre in Gwardamanġa until next Sunday from 9.30 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 7 p.m.

• Aġenzija Sapport is this week holding an exhibition entitled ‘Celebrating ability’ at Palazzo Ferreria, Republic Street, Valletta, to promote the message that people should be valued for their abilities, not hindered due to their impairments. The exhibition includes photos related to the agency’s services, hand-made products by people with disabilities, and clients of the agency doing craft-work. The exhibition will be open between tomorrow and Thursday from 9 a.m. and 5 p.m and on Friday till 1 p.m.

• The annual Inspire Carnival Party will take place tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the Monte Kristo Estate Wine Vaults, limits of Siġġiewi. Children can enter in the costume competition, which will be judged by the team from TV show Ħadd Għalik. Angie Laus, Mario Coleiro and PJ Vassallo will also organise a game for the participants, and there will be Xbox area set up courtesy of Microsoft. Singer J Anvil will be performing on the day. • YWCA (Malta), in collaboration with ETC, is offering a basic sales techniques course. The aim of the course is make women more confident as sales people and give them the necessary skills to make a profit. It will take place Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. till noon. The course begins tomorrow and ends on March 12. Participants must be aged between 16 and 61 and must be literate and numerate. A certificate of achievement will be issued by the ETC. The course is free of charge. • The Junior Club of Our Lady of Lilies Musical Society of Mqabba is holding a carnival party for all the children of Mqabba and their friends on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the newly reconstructed Lily Band Club premises, Church Square, Mqabba. • The next meeting of the San Ġorg Preca prayer group will be on Friday at 6.30 p.m. at the MUSEUM headquarters in Blata l-Bajda (entrance next to Preca Library). Young couples and mature adults are especially welcome.

• A silent weekend retreat for Lent for people aged between 17 and 30 will be held from March 9 to 11 at Mount St Joseph retreat centre, Tarġa Gap, Mosta. It will consist of short input sessions, personal prayer and prayer led by a spiritual director, Mass and a penitential service. The price is €44, but subsidies are available where necessary. • The Malta Geographical Society is organising a walking weekend in Sicily to take place on March 17 and 18. There will be a total of five walks in national parks and historical areas.
