Victoria, Nadur awards

Mgr Alfred Xuereb was recently awarded Ġieħ il-Belt Victoria by Victoria mayor Samuel Azzopardi (left) during a ceremony at the Centre for Arts and Culture in Victoria. Mgr Xuereb is one of Pope Benedict’s private secretaries. Spanish guitarist Armando Orbon gave a concert entitled ‘Spanish Charms’. Meanwhile, Fr Raymond Portelli, MD, of Nadur (right) was awarded the Premju Ġieħ in-Nadur for his sterling missionary work among the poor in Peru by Nadur mayor Miriam Portelli.
