1710 wash house replica to be rebuilt

Għajnsielem council is to rebuild a replica of the historic Għajntal-Ħasselin (wash house) at the site of the original structure inApparition Square.

Swedish archaeologist Amanda Gustafsson, under the direction of the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage, is currently uncovering the remains of the wash house.

The wash house, whichwas built during the time of Grand Master Ramon Perellos in 1710, was eventually demolished in the 1950s.
