UK independent label Philophobia Music is following up its 2011 To Dare Is To Do split EP with a second triple mini-CD release, except this time there will also be a Maltese connection.

Alongside British bands The Do’s and Fur Blend, the split EP, titled Spectemur Agendo (meaning ‘Let us be judged by our actions’ according to Wikipedia) features local upcoming indie trio Clandestines.

The release, a showcase of sorts, features two songs from each of the three bands and, in true independent fashion, is limited to just 100 copies on CD, although all the tracks will also be available to buy in digital format from all download sites. The EP will be launched with a free entry matinee show at The Hop, Wakefield, on March 3.

Clandestines first surfaced on the Maltese music scene about a year ago, causing a stir on the local indie scene and impressively landing a UK festival slot in next to no time.

Since then, the trio has been gigging more and honing its sound, effectively fusing its various alt-rock influences with a punk attitude and a sense of musical adventure. The sum of all this is their own homegrown ‘indie pop with distortion’, thanks to which they’ve succeeded to not only become one of the most talked-about indie acts locally, but to also draw some overseas attention.

Clandestines are Daniel Abdilla (guitar and vocals), Neil Stafrace (bass and vocals) and Sam Xiberras (drums).
