A couple of months ago, I wrote a letter in The Times regarding the pitiful state of a small stretch of road, Pjazetta Triq it-Tomba, in Victoria.

Since The Times published my letter, this road was patched up twice but each time a heavy downpour occurs the state of the road in question goes back to square one.

This is public money going down the drain.

Either the stuff used to patch up the potholes or the workmanship is to blame.

A less time- as well as money-consuming way to go about it is to have it resurfaced.
