FARRUGIA. On February 15, at Charella Residential Home, Sliema, MARIO (ex-Lyceum and MSSP St Agatha teacher) of Msida, aged 98, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Gemma, née Frendo, his children Peter and Marie Louise, Henrietta and Arthur Tabone, Mariuccia and Joseph Zammit, George and Suzanne, Sergio and Marie Louise, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Charella Residential Home tomorrow at 8.45 a.m. for St John of the Cross parish church, Ta’ Xbiex, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.15 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Tal-Erwieħ Cemetery, Tarxien. No flowers by request but donations to Dar il-Kaptan, Mtarfa, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

RISSO. On February 14, LOUIS, aged 88, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Maria, his children Louis, Robert, Judy and Claire and their respective spouses, Mary, Margaret, Joe Bugeja and Patrick Scicluna, his grandchildren Sandra, Karen, Nicholas, Mark, Anna Maria, Daniel, David and Aimee, his great-grandchildren Isabelle, Braden, Nathan and Dylan, his brother Joe and his in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on February 20 at 1.30 p.m. for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated.

VELLA. On February 16, TERESA née Conti, aged 87, of Fontana, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Ġużepp, her sons Joe and his wife Jane, Paul and his wife Frances, her daughters Doris and her husband Robin, Carmen and her husband Joseph, Marie and her husband Nick, Frances and her husband Gangu, Jessie and her husband Joe, Terry and her husband Frank, her grandchildren, her in-laws Stella and Pawla, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital tomorrow at 3.30 p.m. for for the church of Pompei from where the cortège will proceed to the Sacred Heart parish church in Fontana where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4 p.m. followed by interment in the parish grave at Santa Maria Cemetery in Victoria. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

VELLA. On February 15, at his residence, VINCENT, widower of Maria, of Mellieħa, residing in Żebbiegħ, Mġarr, aged 83, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Wistin and his wife Antida, Pio and his wife Polly, Doris and her husband Jimmy, Joe and his wife Rita, Vivienne and her husband Joe residing in Australia, Grace and her husband Pio, Isabelle and her husband Gino, Raymond and his wife Marisa, Carmelo and his wife Josianne, Annette and her husband Steve, his 30 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves his residence today at 2.30 p.m. for St Mary’s parish church, Mġarr, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m., followed by interment at Mġarr cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Baroque Valletta

As part of the monthly series of cultural talks organised by Din l-Art Ħelwa, Dennis De Lucca will be delivering a talk entitled: Baroque Valletta: A 17th-Century Jesuit Course in Military Architecture at the Collegium Melitense.

The talk will be delivered in English at The Judge M. Caruana Curran Hall, 133, Melita Street Valletta on Thursday at 6 p.m. Attendance is free of charge.

Prayer meeting

The committee Moviment Madonna Tal-Konsagrazzjoni will be holding a prayer meeting at Girgenti, Siġġiewi on Sunday at 3.30 p.m.
