Experienced and budding golfers will be taking part in this year’s HSBC Scratch Challenge, one of the most prestigious tournaments on the Royal Malta Golf Club (RMGC) calendar, on March 24 and 25.
For the first time, the tourna-ment will be sponsored by HSBC Malta.
The agreement was signed by HSBC’s Head of Global Banking and Markets Chris Bond and RMGC Captain Ian Macpherson.
The format is based on an individual aggregate 36-hole medal, played off scratch.
“HSBC Malta is one of our major corporate sponsors.
“Apart from funding the Scratch Challenge, their sponsorship will also support the RMGC’s biennial Junior Academy International Tournament, to be played at the end of next October,” Macpherson said.
Bond said that HSBC were proud to be supporting the Royal Malta Golf Club in its competi-tions at Marsa.
“Golf certainly appeals to a large number of our top customers,” he said.
“We are also keen to support the development of the junior academy here in Malta.
“As many will know, HSBC sponsors golf all over the world, working with local communities, youth aca-demies and international tournaments. The sport is popular all over the world and fits well with our position as the world’s leading international bank.”
