According to the Independent Catholic News (ICN) the Israeli authorities have closed down a kindergarten and the local football ground in Silwan, in the al-Bustani neighbourhood of East Jerusalem. This was a few days before an order was issued for the demolition of a number of houses which will involve the displacement of some 1,000 Palestinians whose families have lived there for generations.

The reason for this order, involving the largest displacement of Palestinians from their homes since 1967, is the creation of a theme park for tourists. Incredible and inhuman.

Is the Maltese government, and the EU, aware of this, and if so, what is their reaction?
