I would like to congratulate Clemente Zammit of Melbourne, Australia, for successfully publishing his Maltese eBook. It’s currently quite a pain in the proverbial to publish an eBook in Maltese, predominently because the market leader (Amazon’s Kindle) doesn’t allow publishing in our fine language. I must compliment my friend Mr Zammit on having managed to get a Maltese book onto the iBookstore. Using Smashwords was a great idea.

I currently have two eBooks available – Nies kbar ... Meta kienu Żgħażagħ and Mewt lil Pinto! – which were published with a different platform, called Lulu.com. The reason I went down this route is that it lets you publish in an eBook format but also allows the book to be printed and sold over traditional retail channels. In fact, both my books are available through Amazon.com and other outlets.

I just wanted to add this information for any Maltese author looking to self-publish his work. There’s some effort involved but it’s tremendously rewarding.
