Mater Dei Hospital said this afternoon that the general condition of former Prime Minister Mr. Dom Mintoff is stable.

"The medical team responsible for his care envisages that he will require a further few days of in-patient care," the hospital said.

Mr Mintoff, 95, was admitted to hospital on Saturday morning suffering from heart problems and a chest infection.
