A new poetry eight-session writing course in Maltese entitled ‘Ritmi Mqallba: Kors prattiku intensiv ta’ kitba tal-poeżija’ will be offered to all University students for the first time as part of the Degreeplus programme as from February 29.

The sessions will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. and will deal with different aspects of poetry writing. Ample time will be allocated for actual writing and feedback. The sessions will be led by poets who have taken part in international literary festivals and writing workshops, including Immanuel Mifsud, Walid Nabhan, Simone Inguanez, Caldon Mercieca, Claudia Gauci, and Antoine Cassar.

One of the sessions will be given by renowned Welsh poet and academic Jasmine Donahaye who teaches creative writing at the University of Swansea.

Her workshop at the University is part of a programme of events organised by Inizjamed and Literature Across Frontiers.

The course is coordinated by Adrian Grima from the Department of Maltese. For details and registration visit www.um.edu.mt/degplus.
