Syrian general killed
Gunmen have assassinated an army general in Damascus, Syria's state-run news agency says.
It's the first killing of a high military officer in the Syrian capital since the uprising against president Bashar Assad's regime began in March.
The SANA news agency says three gunmen opened fire at Brigadier General Issa al-Khouli today as he left his home in the Damascus neighbourhood of Rukn-Eddine.
Al-Khouli was a doctor and the chief of a military hospital in the capital. The attack indicates that violence in Syria is reaching the tightly controlled capital, which has been relatively quiet compared to other cities.
Assad's crackdown of the uprising has killed more than 5,400 people, according to UN figures.

Good one.
Maybe Putin and his Chinese dictator bed-fellow will realise that the butcher Al Assad will eventaully fall and follow Gaddafi to Satan's dinner table.
It is time that the UN and that good-for-nothing Ban Ki Moon commence real actions to support the Syrian people in defendung thesleves from the massacres that have been occuring in Syria for months and remove the butcher from power in whatever manner necessary.
