Obituary

Cauchi. On February 9, after a long illness borne with Christian fortitude, ANJELICA, aged 57, went to meet the Risen Lord. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Andrè, daughters Alba and Ambra and her boyfriend Edward, her mother Glorya, her sister Luana and her husband Joe, her brother Miguel and his wife Diana, her nephew Zach and his girlfriend Raisa, her nieces Jessica, Dawn and Debbie, in-laws Angele, Pierre, Monique and Cecile, and other relatives and friends. Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday at Tal-Ibraġ parish church. Any donations to Hospice Malta would be very much appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Micallef. On February 9, at Gozo General Hospital, ĠUŻA, aged 86, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her husband Marcell, her children Melina and her husband Nicholas, Gina and her husband Joe, Ċensina and her husband Ivan, Frances and her husband Carmel, Joseph and his wife Roberta, together with Maria and her husband Bernard, her brother Ġiġi and his wife from Australia, her beloved grand - children and great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital today at 4.30 p.m. for St George’s basilica in Victoria where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 5 p.m. followed by a private interment at Xewkija Cemetry. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Zammit Swain. In memory of MARIA on the first anniversary of her demise. Lovingly remembered by her son John and daughter Christina, as well as her siblings and friends. A Mass for the repose of her soul will be said tomorrow at 12.15 p.m. at Tal-Ibraġ parish church.

Film-making courses

The Malta Film Commission is planning to hold a series of practical, hands-on training courses to help address the skills shortage in the film-making community.

The first will consist of a threeday seminar from February 24 - 27. A nominal administration fee of €25 is applicable and reservations are on a first-comefirst- served basis.

Film awards

The 25th edition of the European Film Awards, held annually by the European Film Academy, will this year be held in Malta on December 1 in collaboration with the Malta Film Commission.

Apart from feature films, the EFA also has a category for documentaries and short films.

The Malta Film Commission is inviting local film producers and directors to submit short films in any one of the film festivals taking place throughout Europe to become a prospective nominee at the next edition of the award ceremony.

Sliema election

Voting documents for the local council election in Sliema are being distributed.

Distribution is occurring daily between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and from 3 to 8 p.m. ending on Friday.

Voting documents are being handed out according to the addresses registered in the October 2011 Electoral Register.

The Electoral Commission said residents should ensure that either voters or an adult residing at the same address is at home to receive and sign for the voting documents.
