Former Malta coach Pietro Ghedin has just conducted a seminar for women’s football coaches at the Malta FA Technical Centre.

Ghedin, presently head coach of the Italian women’s national team, accepted an invitation by the MFA for the two-day activity at the technical centre which was concluded yesterday.

Ghedin is familiar with Maltese football as he also led the U-21 team between 1992 and 1993.

He served as national coach between July 1993 and November 1996. During his tenure, Malta won four matches, one of which against Belgium. He was briefly succeeded by Robert Gatt, the current MFA technical director.

Ghedin has been at the helm of the Italian women’s team for the past seven years during which time he helped the side to improve in the world rankings.

‘Women’s Team Building’ was the theme of the seminar.
