Video: Jason Borg

Joseph Mifsud, one of the two victims of an attempted double murder in October 2005, recounts to timesofmalta.com how the incident happened.

Mariano Grixti, 49, of Żurrieq was yesterday jailed 25 years for attempting to kill  Mr Mifsud and his 15-year-old son Redeemer.

He shot them following a heated argument over the building of a boundary wall in a field near Zurrieq. Both were critically injured.

So Patrick - what are you saying? Were you there at the time and know what went on? If that's the case perhaps you should have stopped the shooting. The point is one does not use violence simply because of a disagreement and not getting one's way - such disputes normally go to court.

@ Pauline. I know Marju Grixti. He's a good person with a wife and two young sons. If you read everything about this case you know that they did do harm to Mr Grixti, and witness that was there that day said that the victim had done bad things to him as well. So the court should have believed Marju when he said that they attacked him before shooting. I know that shooting them was not the option and of course wasn't the right thing to do ! They got him really out of temper. And yes he has to serve time in prison for what Marju did, but not 25 years! In my opinion 25 years are too much in this case.. compared with other maltese cases when someone kill gets a ten year sentence ! Yes he shot them but not because he is a bad person! There was more in this case!! And the wrong thing with maltese people is that they judge the person from the things they hear from one side and comment non sense and not realizing too that his family maybe reading this comments! Courage to family Grixti, friends will always be there for you

Before you talk about the Maltese, at least you must have a Maltese name and surname and be a hard working family man, cause the only stubburn persons are people like yourself who thinks they can judge anything and everyone but do not want to be judged.Mind your own business will you.
