Ten-man Lazio came back from two goals down to beat Cesena in a five-goal Serie A thriller at the Olympic Stadium yesterday.

Cesena looked on their way to a surprising victory after racing to a two-goal lead after the opening 45 minutes. But the home side, despite having Abdoullay Konko dismissed stormed back to take three vital points that lifted them to third place.

It was Cesena who took a surprise lead. In a swift break, Giuseppe Colucci’s through ball released Vincenzo Iaquinta who squared the ball into the path of Adrian Mutu who fired home.

The Romans were stunned and fell further behind on 32 minutes.

Abdoullay Konko brought down Mutu inside the area. The Lazio player was dismissed and from the penalty, Iaquinta made it 2-0.

Lazio fought back after the break and Hernanes pulled one back with a fine strike on 53 minutes.

It was all square on 61 minutes when Miroslav Klose nodded the ball into the path of Lulic who fired in the back of the net.

Lazio completed their comeback two minutes later when Kozak stabbed the ball home from close in.
