PM welcomes Malta's choice for the Eurovision
Malta's choice for this year's Eurovision Song Contest – Kurt Calleja and his band, were this afternoon welcomed at Castille by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi.
Dr Gonzi said the result achieved by Kurt and his band was due to the dedication and enthusiasm they had shown.
Kurt's band is made up of guitarist Kevin Calleja, 17, who is Kurt's younger brother; lead guitarist Chris Calleja, 21; drummer Rebekah Spiteri; dancer and choreographer Warren Bonello, 22; and backing vocal Ylenia Vella, 17.
Kurt told the Prime Minister he was honoured to be representing the country and would do his best to get the best possible result.

The Prime Minister has time for this nonsense when Malta has not even yet contested on the front that matters - the international front!! The point is the country`s image is so alarmingly low that anything is taken as a means to alienate the people and implant the feeling that someone cares.................regrettably the People have had much to absorb in recent weeks that not even such a gimmick carries any weight. Pity these youngsters who were baitfully utilised - that is Politics my Dears!!

This is exactly what a politician should find the time for.
A few minutes with young achievers in any field of competence is a huge investment in the future. Recognition is a form of payment that cannot be monitized or matched.

The song is called 'This is the night'. I wonder if this reminded the PM of last week's vote i parliament?
