GWU wants MCESD to discuss political situation
The General Workers' Union has requested the chairman of the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development to discuss the political situation in the country in the council's next meeting.
In a statement, the GWU noted that in the past weeks it had been extremely cautious not to comment about the situation but it could not remain quiet for longer as the uncertainty was affecting investment in the country.
In the current economic circumstances, the country could not deal with more uncertainty and instability and the more the political situation was stretched, the more detrimental it would be for the employment and investment sectors.
The GWU said that as it seemed that the crisis was not going to be solved and because of the preoccupation, even among constituted bodies, that the political situation was affecting the economy, it was insisting on this being discussed during the council's next meeting on February 15.

Where where the same people running the still the same GWU between 1981 and 1987?
If you call this instability, what was it then?
Was it at that time being extreeeeeeeeemly cautious?
GWU still has the same PL (MLP) cheek.

"Toni, if you managed to remain silent for the last few weeks about a subject you should not be involved in anyway, then do us all a favour and keep silent, although that alone will not earn the GWU credibility, since it lost it since the day it 'married' the MLP"
Angus, haven't you even realised that divorce was made a law last May, even though the PM voted against the wish of the majority of the people? In fact GWU and MLP divorced prior to this recent happening!
Mr Black, if you really think there is no instability which is wreaking havoc to the economy, then you are either living cuckoo land or else trying to give a helping hand to the ailing PN! Think it is the latter, though.

What instability is the GWU dreaming about?
This country is as stable as a rock and investments continue to come our way [SAG are in fact controlling the queue]. Remember that the PM yesterday (while Dr Franco was talking elsewhere and rocked this government's boat again) said that a Brazilian company will make it to our shores [no details given]. At least this time round no figures for jobs running in thousands were mentioned. One sincerely hope it is not another Ghost Deja Vu City!

Trust the GWU to come up with the subject. Wonders never cease! What 'uncertainty' are we talking about here? The 'uncertainty' of an election? Which means, what, exactly? Is there a problem with any of the two political parties reaching the government benches, or what? What's so wrong with the PL getting to government? What's so wrong with the PN once again getting to government? So, please, tell me, where is the uncertainty?
