Labour vows to solve Marsa problems

A Labour government would solve the drainage problem in Triq is-Sajjieda, Marsa, party leader Joseph Muscat said during a visit to the local council.

Another priority would be to close the Marsa power station while securing the jobs of Enemalta workers, unlike the government, which would treat them in the same way he did the shipyard and Air Malta workers and bus drivers.

The Labour-led council helped residents and its administrative building included a library and other community services. This project was run without the council losing money, Dr Muscat said.

Marsa mayor Frans Debono said what inconvenienced Marsa residents most were environmental problems related to Hexagon House, drainage and the Marsa power station.
