Elected to board of the International Association of Gaming Regulators

Joseph Borg, chief regulatory officer of the Lotteries and Gaming Authority has been elected to serve as a board member of the International Association of Gaming Regulators.

The IAGR, an independent, non-profit corporation established over 30 years ago, works to advance the effectiveness and efficiency of gaming regulation throughout the world and provides a forum in which gaming regulators from various countries can meet, exchange views and information and discuss policy issues.

As a board member Dr Borg shall be actively participating and leading specific workshops focused on online and land-based gaming.

Reuben Portanier, LGA’s CEO said: “Having Dr Borg elected on the IAGR board by gaming regulators from around the world is a recognition of LGA’s global reputational standing and a manifestation of trust in Dr Borg. I am sure he will be the region’s voice within one of the most influential international regulatory fora and shall be an ambassador of the Maltese online gaming regulatory model and approach.”

Dr Borg joined the Lotteries and Gaming Authority in 2007 as legal and enforcement director and was appointed chief regulatory officer in 2010.
