Companies merge services

The directors of Alliance Trust Co Ltd (ATCL) and AMS Ltd, two established corporate services companies associated with Fenech Farrugia Fiott Legal (FFF Legal) and the partners of the Capstone Group have announced the merger of their respective corporate services, accounting, trust and fiduciary businesses, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.

The public accounting, tax compliance, back-office and payroll related services of the two groups will be consolidated under Capstone Advisory Co. Ltd. while trust, fiduciary and corporate services will be incorporated into Alliance Trust Co. Ltd.

The joint venture will also bring together the combined knowledge available within FFF Legal and the Capstone Group with reference to specific industries, as a result of a collaboration agreement concluded with FFF Legal. The areas of initial focus for the joint venture will be the funds industry as well as the remote gaming industry, consolidating and enhancing the specialisations already developed by FFF Legal, ATCL and the Capstone Group within these areas of practice.

“This initiative will therefore harness professional knowledge from the legal and accounting sectors, coupled with industry-specific expertise, creating a centre of multi-disciplinary excellence in the selected industries,” a statement by the merged companies said.

Tonio Fenech, chairman of the joint venture, said: “This development, which brings together two professional groups that have a common world-view, work-ethic and professional value system, reflects our commitment to building a solid professional services infrastructure, actively contributing to ensuring that Malta earns its stake as an international services centre of excellence in the global industries targeted.”

The group’s main offices are located within the Tower Business Centre in Swatar and Vincenti Building in Valletta. The first directors are Kris Baron, David Borg, Christian Farrugia, Tonio Fenech and Nicholas Gouder.

The consolidated entities will form part of the Trust Alliance Project, a collaborative professional services organisation based in Malta.

The Trust Alliance Project represents a grouping of like-minded independent professional firms which work together on a collaborative and non-exclusive basis in a wide range of sectors, including legal (FFFL), accounting (Capstone Advisory Co. Ltd.), audit and assurance (Capstone Assurance), corporate, fiduciary and trustee services (ATCL), business intelligence, CRM systems and cloud computing developments (iMovo Ltd), change management, public communications and social media strategies (Strategyworks Ltd.), as well as facilities management and condominium administration (Alliance Facilities Management Services Ltd.).
