When Words Are Not Enough, the concert version of When You Hear My Voice – an original piece of theatre involving leading West-End performers, local talent and young offenders at the Corradino Correctional Facility – is being held next week at St James Cavalier with an impressive array of singers.
When Words Are Not Enough will feature the music of Christopher Hamilton – the only composer to have won two Tim Williams awards for composition – as performed by West End artistes Shimi Goodman (Chicago, Dirty Dancing, Evita, Cabaret, Singing in the Rain and Bombay Dreams) and Madalena Alberto (Les Miserables, Zorro, Chicago, Godspell and Fame), with a special appearance by young local talented singer/actor Joseph Zammit who will be singing the world premiere of Mr Hamilton’s setting of Il-Kantilena – which is thought to be the first piece of written Maltese literature.
Mr Hamilton is responsible for the lion’s share of music in When You Hear My Voice, being staged at St James Cavalier today and tomorrow featuring young offenders from the YOURS Division of the Corradino Correctional Facility, local actors and the astounding Laura Pitt-Pulford.
• When Words Are Not Enough is being held at St James Cavalier on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m.
