Heathrow airport resumes flights after snow cancellations
London's Heathrow Airport returned almost to normal today after heavy snow forced hundreds of flight cancellations over the weekend, leaving thousands of passengers stranded.
"Heathrow is open and our usual flight schedule is operating today," said a statement from the airport, the world's busiest air hub in terms of international passenger traffic.
"There will, however, be a handful of cancellations as result of yesterday's disruption. We advise passengers to contact their airlines to check before they come to the airport."
Heathrow had cancelled half of the 1,300 flights planned for Sunday as snow and fog descended on Britain, part of a European-wide cold snap that has claimed more than 300 lives.

There was no heavy snow recorded at Heathrow Airport=please define heavy and kindly provide details of amount of snow in inches or mm's that fell there .As I suggest you will find this report or claim of" heavy snow"to be hghly inaccurate- indeed misleading- as i was there on the day in question and have seen more snow in Rome.

Absolutely joke and massive over-reactionary precaution to cancel any flights .It is one thing to be cautious but an entirely different matter to base such action by the BAA on a confirmed weather forecast that gave absolutely no indication of heavy ,and therefore disruptive, snowfall.

Welcome to the UK, a country of red lights, stop signs, traffic james, queues, nanay stating and general gloom. Enjoy.
