Policeman injured in anti-drug raid

A policeman was slightly injured while he was conducting an anti-drug raid at Marsa, yesterday afternoon, the police said.

The police said the incident occurred when the policeman was approaching the car of a suspect drug trafficker together with members of the Drugs Squad. The 25-year-old man from Valletta drove his car dragging the officer with him, slightly injuring him in the process, the police said.

Apart from the driver of the car who is suspected of heroin trafficking, the police said they also arrested two passengers aged 29 and 47, from Cospicua, and a 29-year-old woman from Marsa, who will be charged with heroin possession and abuse.
