Hilton Malta has been rated among the best international establishments after claiming ninth place in Travelrepublic .com’s ‘Top 20 Favourite Worldwide Hotels of 2011’ poll.

The list included three other Hilton hotels: Turkey’s Hilton Dalaman Resort and Spa Hotel, which placed seventh, the Doubletree by Hilton Chester in the UK, which placed 19th, and Egypt’s Hilton Sharm Fayrouz Resort, which was 20th. Aegean Sky Hotel in Malia, Crete, placed first, followed by the Maltese-owned Corinthia Hotel Budapest.

The list is compiled according to the average reviews each hotel garners over the course of a year.

Over 145,000 costumers wrote reviews throughout 2011 and Hilton Malta had an average score of nine out of 10.

Travel Republic users can only submit a review after they have booked their holiday and returned.

With four of its hotels placing in the top 20, the Hilton chain had more hotels than any other chain in the list.
