Grand Master Jean Parisot de la Valette yesterday marked his 517th birthday by cutting a cake and sharing it with passers-by. The Società Filarmonica Nazionale La Valette band set off from St Paul Street performing through Valletta, the city built by de Valette, before assembling in Great Siege Square where re-enactors performed. De Valette Birthday Celebrations were organised by Valletta Living History in collaboration with the Valletta council.
