Barracks cleaned up

A team from Vodafone’s marketing and brand departments recently joined forces with residents at Caritas to clean up a large area of the military barracks outside the confines of the Majjistral Nature and History Park.

Majjistral is to restore the barracks and preserve what remains, and Vodafone’s initiative served to clean up the area in preparation for the conservation exercise.

Vodafone brand manager Maria Vella Galea said the barracks were heavily vandalised, with debris of all sorts, including furniture, dumped in the area.

Stonework added to the barracks in the past years was also demolished.
