The Malta Insurance Association has announced Adrian Galea as its new director general.

Mr Galea, 47, a Masters graduate from the University of London, comes to the Association after more than 15 years in the financial services industry. Until recently, Mr Galea held the post of executive in the CEO’s Office at Global Capital plc.

During a lunch held at the MIA premises the association’s president, Matthew von Brockdorff thanked outgoing director general Anton Felice for his lifetime career of loyal service with the association and the industry it represents.

“I see my role as building on what is already a strong association, ensuring that all members are active participants. Various facets of the association can be enhanced to provide up-to-date information for all insurance players in the market”, Mr Galea said.

The Malta Insurance Association is a non profit-making organisation that represents the views and common interests of all local and foreign insurance companies providing cover in Malta. On an on-going basis, the Association seeks to facilitate wider public understanding of local insurance practices and procedures.
