The Malta Council for Culture and the Arts is launching a musiccomposition competition for Independence Day.

The Independence Day concert is held annually at the Palace Courtyard in Valletta.

The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will perform classical and modern music celebrating Malta’s Independence Day.

This year’s theme will be‘Influences’. Through this newinitiative, the MCCA is giving an opportunity to local composers to have their new music performed by the MPO.

The competition also includes a monetary prize and is open to Maltese composers of all ages.
