Accused of punching and raping his wife
A 49-year-old man was yesterday charged with punching his wife in the face and raping her after she refused to have sex with him.
The man is not being named to protect his 42-year-old wife’s identity.
The attack allegedly occurred at 4 a.m. at the couple’s matrimonial home in Qrendi after the husband had reportedly arrived home drunk.
The man pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring his wife, raping and threatening her.
Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani remanded him in custody.
