Arsenal 7 Blackburn 1

Robin van Persie smashed a hat-trick as Arsenal fired seven goals past 10-man Blackburn at Emirates Stadium.

The Dutchman fired the Gunners ahead in the second minute, but a fine free-kick from Morten Gamst Pedersen levelled the game briefly.

Van Persie and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gave the hosts a two-goal cushion and Blackburn had Gael Givet dismissed before the break, which was followed by more Arsenal domination as Mikel Arteta, Van Persie, Oxlade-Chamberlain and substitute Thierry Henry made it a rout.

Stoke 0 Sunderland 1

Sunderland's impressive form continued as a strike from James McClean secured them all three points against 10-man Stoke at a wintry Britannia Stadium.

In a contest during which snow fell throughout, a first half of few goalscoring opportunities finished with Potters defender Robert Huth getting sent off in the 45th minute - shown a straight red card following a tackle on David Meyler.

McClean then netted in the 60th minute, bursting through the hosts' defence and tucking the ball away to seal a victory which means the Black Cats have now taken 22 points from the 30 on offer in the Barclays Premier League since manager Martin O'Neill took charge of the Wearsiders.

West Brom 1 Swansea 2

Swansea's on-loan midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson played a major role in Brendan Rogers' side coming from behind to register only their second Barclays Premier League away win of the season at West Brom.

The Iceland international, who joined from Hoffenheim last month until the end of the season, cancelled out Marc-Antoine Fortune's opener and laid on the winner for Danny Graham.

The visitors dominated for long spells as they followed up their 1-1 home draw against Chelsea in mid-week with another impressive performance.

Norwich 2 Bolton 0

Second-half goals from Andrew Surman and Anthony Pilkington ensured Norwich ended a nervy afternoon with a win over strugglers Bolton at Carrow Road.

The Canaries dominated the first half and should have been well ahead by half-time, but their profligacy, and the Bolton woodwork, left them frustrated.

The game looked set to peter out into a dull goalless draw until Pilkington volleyed home in the 70th minute and Surman wrapped up the win just before the end with an instinctive finish after Adam Bogdan had parried Russell Martin's drive.

QPR 1 Wolves 2

Substitute Kevin Doyle inspired Wolves to a 2-1 victory at 10-man QPR today.

The Ireland international came off the bench at half-time and set up Matt Jarvis 51 seconds later, before firing home the winner.

Debutant Bobby Zamora had given QPR a deserved half-time lead, but Djibril Cisse's red card for an altercation with Roger Johnson allowed Wolves a way back into the game.

Wigan 1 Everton 1

Wigan benefited from one of the more bizarre goals the Barclays Premier League will see this season but had to settle for a point against Everton at the DW Stadium.

It had been a thoroughly forgettable affair until the 76th minute when Phil Neville blocked a Jean Beausejour cross and the ball somehow found its way past Tim Howard for a hugely embarrassing own goal.

But the hosts' lead lasted only seven minutes, substitute Victor Anichebe heading in the equaliser to ensure Everton followed up their win over Manchester City on Tuesday with a point on the road.

Manchester City 3 Fulham 0

Sergio Aguero ended his five-game barren streak by sending Manchester City on their way to a comfortable win over Fulham.

Aguero drove home his 19th goal of the campaign from the penalty spot after just nine minutes on a snowy evening at the Etihad Stadium.

A Chris Baird own goal and a second-half tap-in for Edin Dzeko saw City open up a three-point lead at the top of the Barclays Premier League.
