The planning authority has failed to take action against “serious illegalities” at picturesque Ramla Bay in Gozo, according to an environmental NGO that is focused on protecting it.
Save Ramla maintains Mepa is “still resisting” the placing of an enforcement notice on the illegalities – which include garages, parking areas and parts of a road – on the site where villas are proposed to be built instead of Ulysses Lodge.
In a letter to the authority, it was pointed out that it was “proven beyond reasonable doubt that a significant part of the development existing in the site... is not covered by plan-ning consent”.
Save Malta has questioned why Mepa failed to issue enforcement notices when it was aware of the significant illegal development on the site.
