Two BOV Premier League players received a one-match ban yesterday after collecting their fourth yellow card in last weekend’s matches.

Birkirkara’s Ryan Scicluna and Steve Sadowski, of Tarxien Rainbows, have been ruled out of their teams’ matches against Balzan Youths and Sliema Wanderers respectively.

In the lower divisions, Kalkara player Clayton Spiteri was hit with a one-year ban plus a further three-match suspension for assaulting the assistant referee during his team’s 2-1 championship upset to Mtarfa.

Clive Caruana and Fulvio Azzopardi, also of Kalkara, were handed a three-match ban.
