Maltese waterpolo acquaintances in final
Two top class players who are familiar faces to Maltese waterpolo, Vladimir Gojkovic, of Montenegro, and Milan Aleksic, of Serbia, yesterday faced each other in the European waterpolo championship final in Holland. Serbia (picture) won a thrilling final 9-8 to be crowned champions. In a group match played earlier in the week it was Montenegro who ran out winners 11-7. In the semi-finals, Montenegro beat Hungary 14-13 while Serbia had the better of Italy 12-8. Hungary won the match for third place 12-9.
