• A 12-hour fundraising marathon featuring rock bands and martial arts schools will take place today at the Magazino Hall and the Old Power House, Valletta Waterfront, in aid of Puttinu Cares. The marathon, organised by the Valletta Waterfront Social Fund, begins at 11 a.m. Sixteen rock bands will be performing, while 18 martial arts schools will go through their displays. • Judge Giovanni Bonello will deliver a talk entitled ‘Deeds and Misdeeds at the Palace’ at the President’s Palace, Valletta, tomorrow at 6 p.m. The lecture forms part of the ‘Rediscovering the Grandmaster’s Palace’ series and it will uncover what went on behind the scenes in the lives of the Grand Masters and their closest associates. • The Arċikonfraternità of St Joseph, Rabat, is holding a competition for the design of a new logo to be used during celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the coronation of the statue of St Joseph. The logo will be printed on letterheads so the design should not be too elaborate. It has to be in a contemporary style and include the words ‘Kuruna fuq rasek qegħdnilek 1963-2013’. Those interested are to send their designs on paper or in electronic format via CD to Stephen Pace, secretary of the Arċikonfraternità of St Joseph, PO Box 9, Rabat, Malta, by February 19. The winner, who will be announced on March 10, will receive a prize of €200 and a souvenir of the occasion.
