May I remind these drivers that driving with full beam is allowed only outside villages and when there is no oncoming traffic.
Again, at the junction near the Addolorata cemetery, some drivers seem to ignore the red traffic lights. Perhaps a camera could identify the culprits.
Besides, some drivers ignore such things as speed limits (including low speeds like 35 km/h outside the village), the use of indicators, the use of inside and side mirrors, just to name a few contraventions.
Traffic regulations should be seriously enforced. The extra fines collected could help pay for the employment of extra traffic police (not wardens). Fixing roads would be within the budget, polluting vehicles would finally be history.
If fines are strictly imposed for traffic violations, in a few years Malta could have disciplined traffic on its roads – it is amazing what can happen when people have to pay for their mistakes.
