• The feast of St John Bosco is being celebrated today at the Don Bosco Oratory in Victoria. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will lead a solemn High Mass at 9 a.m., followed by the blessing of pets at St Augustine’s Square. Lunch will be held at the Calypso Hotel at 12.15 p.m.

A Mass will be celebrated at the Don Bosco Oratory chapel at 4.30 p.m., followed by a procession with the statute of Don Bosco. The Leone Band will accompany the procession.

The Gozo Youth Wind Band will present the Don Bosco Grand Concert at the oratory’s theatre at 7.30 p.m. Entrance is free.

• The feast of St Blaise is being celebrated in Nadur today. Mgr Grech will celebrate Mass at the bowl pitch at 10.30 a.m., followed by the blessing of animals and agriculture produce. Transport will be available from Nadur Square at 10 a.m.

• The annual general meeting of the Gozo Amateur Radio Society will be held at the Victoria Scout Group Headquarters, St Domenica Street, Victoria, today at 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome. Attendance does not imply any obligation to join the society.

• The Gozo SPCA will be holding an ‘open morning’ in Victoria today between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

• Masses at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary will be held today at 6.15 a.m., 8.30, 10, 11.15 and 5 p.m. At 6 p.m. there will be the recital of the rosary, followed by Eucharistic benediction.

• The Friends of the Sick and Elderly will be organising a charity sale at the football ground next to the Victoria car park today between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. A €10 charge will be applicable.

• The Ladies’ Circle of the Sacred Heart Minor Seminary will be organising a coffee morning in the hall of the Catholic Action Centre in Victoria on Thursday at 9 a.m. Tickets at €3 can be obtained from the members and from the school.

• The Gozitan Graduates Movement invites graduates and members of all professions (including couples) for First Friday Mass at St Augustine’s church, Victoria, at 8 p.m. The sacrament of reconciliation will be available before Mass.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will be holding a prayer evening at the Munxar parish church on Saturday at 8 p.m., followed by Mass at midnight.

• The Bethel Charismatic Group will be holding a prayer meeting at the church of Our Lady of ­Pompeii, Victoria, on Saturday at 7 p.m.
