To celebrate Arbor Day on January 15, the Department of Environmental Science at the Junior College planted an oak tree in the college grounds. The tree was grown from an acorn originating from an indigenous oak tree at Wardija. Over the years the department planted a number of other indigenous trees, including the Sandarac Gum tree (Għargħar), oak, carob, and endemic shrubs. Picture shows students planting the oak tree at the college.
