Żurrieq council joins the Green Pak scheme

Żurrieq council recently joined Green Pak to provide a waste separation infrastructure within the community.

Green Pak will be placing recycling banks for plastic, metal, glass and paper in various areas around Żurrieq, as well as manage collections throughout the week, including Saturdays, from shops and small businesses.

Free recycling bags will be distributed to each household in an effort to encourage ‘Recycling on Tuesdays’.

Green Pak’s recently launched an environmental lottery campaign entitled ‘You win… The environment wins’, which seeks to encourage more residents to recycle their packaging material by rewarding them for their efforts with a weekly cash prize of €200.
