Topless protest in cold Davos
Three topless Ukrainian protesters have been detained after trying to break into an invitation-only gathering of political leaders in Davos.
The women are trying to call the VIPs' attention to the needs of the world's poor.
They arrived at the entrance to the congress centre where the World Economic Forum is taking place, took off their tops and climbed a fence before being detained. They carried placards reading 'Poor because of you'. Other slogans were written on their bodies.
The activists are from the group Femen, which has have become popular in Ukraine for staging small, half-naked protests to highlight a range of issues including oppression of political opposition. They have also conducted protests in some other countries.

If we decide to do something like this in Malta let's make sure we choose the best Maltese girls possible because it may prove tough to find this sort of talent locally. We might have to outsource, or actually invite Femen over. Without a doubt overall it would be positive for our tourism. In Riga, Latvia for example lots of tourists participate in the Blonde Parade, having travelled there specifically for that reason. Relevant authorities please take note.

When Malta becomes a world leader with clout, they will come.
In the meantime, why don't we set up our own faction here in Malta - I am sure they will find plenty of things to protest about. It would be more effective however if both men and women disrobed and the more unshapely and fat, the better. After all the whole point should be to cause offense to the eyes and not to give pleasure.

I agree we need them in Malta to see what sort of kefuffle they would cause with all the fuddy duddies and church complaining and the politicians sitting on the fence, while the police arrest them for indecency.

How I wish I was there, but believe me guys, not to take photos of the girls because that will make them angrier but to throw my fur coat over them to keep them warm. You don't believe me ?
