Rental scheme launched by Housing Authority

The Housing Authority has launched a rental scheme Skema Kiri to invite owners to lease their vacant residential property to the authority for a minimum of 10 years. These properties will then be sublet to applicants on the authority's priority list.

Owners letting their vacant properties to the authority will benefit from a secure rental income for at least 10 years, and benefit from an advantageous withholding tax rate of five per cent.

The authority will accept applications from any locality in Malta and Gozo. Rental fees of over €400 will not be considered.

Applications are against a payment of €20 payment.

You are right, very right infact.

We have a property in Sliema which has been derequisitioned. However , as you said this does not mean a thing as we cannot get it back . We have to wait for the " Squatter " to die.

Sorry, you are mistaken.
Rental fees of over €400 per year will not be considered.
Don't you know that the minimum wage in Malta ( not Gozo ) is some €150 weekly.
