An oil recovery sea platform is seen next to the Costa Concordia cruise ship off the island of Giglio. Italy’s Civil Protection Agency expects to start extracting fuel from the capsized cruise ship by Saturday or earlier.  The Maltese vessel Salina Bay can be seen on far right. Colonel Emanuel Mallia of the Armed Forces of Malta will be joining an EU Observer Mission to the wreck.
