JSS members to watch Juve-Catania

A group of children from the Juventus Soccer School Malta (JSS) will be travelling to Italy next month to watch the Serie A game between Juventus and Catania. The match will be played at the new Juventus Stadium on February 19.

During their stay in Turin, the young JSS members (born 2002 and 2003) will take part in a number of training sessions and play two friendly games against selections of Juventus Soccer Schools from the region, JSS Malta said in a statement.

Charles Borg, the technical director and head coach of JSS Malta, and Mark Marlow will be in charge of the Maltese contingent during their five-day visit to Italy.

JSS Malta have also announced a new sponsorship deal with the local representatives of Carpigiani. The Italian brand will be displayed on the training kits of the JSS players in all age-groups this season.

Renato Attard, managing director of Carpigiani (Malta), presented the sponsorship to JSS Malta during a social event which was attended by the school members and their parents.

“I am pleased that Carpigiani is now associated with Juventus Soccer School Malta,” Attard said. “Carpigiani is a renowned international brand and our partnership with the Juventus Soccer School is an exciting venture for us.”

Meanwhile, Italian coach Luca Corona, from the Juventus Academy, will be in Malta on February 9 and 10 to carry out the first assessment of JSS students for this season. Corona conducted a similar assessment here last year.

During these exercises, the Italian coaches evaluate the progress of the JSS Malta members as well as the work of the local coaches. The analysis is then sent to the Juventus Academy.
