Planning Authority ‘biased’

The planning authority’s approval of a tower block and two residential towers for the Midi project at Tigné in Sliema confirmed that it was heavily tilted towards developers’ interests, according to Alternattiva Demokratika.

“The Malta Environment and Planning Authority approved this development through dubious methods, as impact studies were practically inaccessible. This is the same Mepa which approved various mega projects in the Tigné peninsula, rendering it into an overdeveloped zone, when Sliema has a huge supply of vacant properties,” AD chairman Michael Briguglio said.

Instead of taking into consideration the impacts of this development, Mepa acted at the service of developers, he added.
