A Malta-sponsored workshop for Palestinian Tourism Ministry officials resulted in a preliminary draft of the Palestinian Charter for National Heritage.

The charter will comprise a set of national guidelines and principles for the conservation and management of Palestine’s cultural heritage.

The workshop, attended by 26 Palestinian professionals in Bethlehem, was organised following an agreement between Foreign Affairs Minister Tonio Borg and his counterpart in Ramallah some weeks ago.

The ambassador of Malta to Unesco, Ray Bondin, opened the workshop with a brief address outlining Malta’s work in the region and its support for a two-state solution.
