A burglar who stole some €6,000 worth of items from four houses was yesterday jailed for four years after admitting to the thefts.
Sicilian Carmelo Ciranna, 36, from Syracuse, is already serving a five-year jail term for theft. Yesterday, he admitted to stealing from two houses in San Ġwann, one in Birkirkara and another in Swieqi between December 16 and January 7. He also admitted to relapsing.
Magistrate Audrey Demicoli took into consideration his early guilty plea.
Police Inspectors Keith Arnaud and Fabian Fleri prosecuted.
