The civil service head is to captain the government’s information technology agency after the last chairman resigned.

Godwin Grima’s appointment as chairman of the Malta Information Technology Agency (Mita) was approved by Cabinet this week. Dr Grima, who is Principal Permanent Secretary, has occupied the post of deputy chairman at the agency. He takes over from Claudio Grech, who resigned two months ago to dedicate more time to his private consultancy business.

The government said a detailed handover process was under way.
